We’re Moving Home
Hunt Dobson Stringer has outgrown its current cosy office and is moving across the road to larger premises. The fact that our numbers have doubled in two years meant that we needed more space and we’ve taken the opportunity to upgrade. As well as more workspace we’ll also have breakout areas and meeting rooms, so we look forward to our clients being able to visit us. We’re staying in the Borough area – in fact we’re moving across the road.

New housing guidance emphasises community facilities
Among several changes in the Government's new Planning Policy Statement on Housing, launched in November, is an increased emphasis on achieving mixed communities and delivering necessary levels of housebuilding. One key addition is the advice to councils that in allocating land to housing they should ensure local community facilities, infrastructure and services remain accessible. The aim for new communities is to be of sufficient size to justify the development of, and be able to sustain, community facilities.

Health Impact Assessments: coming soon?
There was a time when major planning applications were submitted without any socio-economic assessment. That approach wouldn't get you far today. Soon, a Health Impact Assessment may be just as essential. In his "Draft further alterations to the London Plan", London's Mayor suggests that developments be required to take account of their impact on the health of local people. With demand for Health Impact Assessments growing nationwide, major developers may not be able to ignore this issue much longer.
